All people,
according to Saskatoon’s Food Charter,
are
entitled to a healthy and secure food supply.
This
begins at birth with breastfeeding.
Breastfeeding is a child’s
right.
All children have the
right to be breastfed in order to achieve
and maintain optimal health.
Breastfeeding is a woman’s
right.
It is her right to be
able to provide her child with optimal nutrition and it is her right to
enjoy the physical and emotional benefits that can come to her through
a breastfeeding relationship.
Breastfeeding is a human right both in public and as a right of women
workers that is supported by Provincial Human Rights Commission.
